Rice MBA students, staff, and alumni to benefit local charities, MS150.
HOUSTON, TX – February 24, 2009 – Enbase, a leading provider of operations, workflow and intelligence technology solutions, announced today their sponsorship of the Rice MBA Cycling Club for the spring semester. The group of Rice MBA students, staff, and alumni will participate in many philanthropic events throughout the semester that benefit local charitable organizations, including the BP MS 150. The new relationship with the Rice MBA Cycling Club is a great extension of Enbase’s history with Rice University since two of the company’s founders are Rice University graduates; Virgil Haney holds degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the university, and Bishr Tabbaa holds a degree in Computer Science and is currently pursuing a Rice MBA. “We are very excited about assisting the Rice University MBA students in their philanthropic efforts” said Suzanne Fehrenbacher, Director of Marketing at Enbase. “This is another opportunity for us to raise awareness of the Enbase brand and services, and connect with our audience through an exciting sport.” Among the philanthropic events, the Rice MBA Cycling Club will ride in the 2009 BP MS 150 from Houston to Austin. The BP MS 150, organized and sponsored by British Petroleum, benefits the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and is the largest event of its kind in the country. “We’re really excited about the sponsorship Enbase has provided our club – especially since they have such strong roots in the Rice family. Enbase’s generosity has helped our new club exceed our goals this year by allowing us to put a team on the ground and begin reaching the community during cycling events,” added Scott Smith, Rice MBA Cycling Team President.
